I want to link (deeplink??) to a bookmark in word from a 3rd party software
in this case codewright.

I am writing manuals in Word and want to be able to go to a given bookmark
in the word document by clicking a link in codewright but do not know the
format/commands to use in order to perform the linking.

Previously we wrote the manuals in latex, transformed these to pdf-files and
were through index files able to get the links to function.

You could try it with a Hyperlink to the bookmark, but I seem to recall that
Word doesn't support hyperlinking to a bookmark location (I could be wrong
about that, though).

Otherwise, it would require macro code to make the jump to the bookmark.

Thank you for your answer.

I have tried with the macro approach. It works but is not practical as I
ended up opening a new instance of Word (Word2002) every time the manual was
opened and furthermore I am not able shut off the warning concerning the
document is read-only or opened by another user. I used the command
"<path>\winword.exe <document name> /m<macro name> for opening the document
and executing the macro.

Hyperlinking to a bookmark in Word is possible at least within an Microsoft
environment (link test.doc#model_structure) but I do not know if there is a
switch for calling Word similar to the /m switch.
