How to line up currency values in Word?

I am using word to create a quotation template.
I do not want to use tables, but need to list a number of lines with values.
The values are monetary amounts and are placed on the right hand side of the
page alongside each description.
When previewing or printing the finished document though, the amounts are
not exactly below each other and appear a bit untidy.
How can this be rectified?
