How to limit seq numbering in captions to sections

I have several section breaks in a Word docx (2007). I have inserted photos
where each photo has a caption, Figure 1, Figure 2, etc. I want to keep the
sequential numbering specific within each section in the document so that if
I insert a new photo in one section, it doesn't affect the numbering in other
sections; is this possible?

You can do this if you include a "chapter number" in the caption; the
numbering will then restart in each "chapter." The chapter number must be
the number of an autonumbered paragraph in one of Word's built-in heading
styles.
