how to integrate win Firewall with a domain

Guest

Have a single W2k domain that I would like to use the notebook PCs XP sp2
firewall while on the domain . I have tried the netsh firewall set opmode
mode=enable profile=standard and the one to turn it off for doamin but the
next day or 2 and the firwalls for the laptops are back on. With the firewall
on I can't get the users data backed up (using NTBackuop) nor get their AV
updated from the domains servers. Is there a way to auto turn off the f/w
while on the domain that continues to work after reboots? Or what are the
ports and protocols that I need to set exceptions for on the firewall to
allow it to be on all the time. Thanks

Hello,

Thanks for posting!

I suggest you disable Windows Firewall using domain group policy. More

Thanks for the suggestions but they don't apply as this is a Windows 2000
domain. Every one answers this for a W2k3 or XP. Default domain policy does
not have a Windows firewall selection. Is there something I have to add. If
so what is it? Sorry but these answers dont answer the question.
