Q852913745

I have downloaded the xp updates and saved them as I use a slow
dialup connection but "enjoy" reinstalling XP now and again.
Is there any way to install all of the updates together, or do I have
to install each of them individually.

TIA

Hi

You will have to install the Updates one-by-one if you have manually downloaded them, rebooting when asked to.

I would install each in turn - double click the .exe and let it go
through, . Whenever it asks for a reboot, let it do so before going on
to the next update. That is because it is only after the reboot that
the new files are in place, and if you don't do it, the next update may
have the wrong idea about what files it needs to replace, and so do a
replacement on version a by version b when c was waiting in the wings

Tedious - but safer. And BTW if you *enjoy* reinstalling things fair
enough - but it is not necessary
