how to install ICS on win server?

Hi,

i have a little LAN with win2000 server and win2000 prof as clients. I want
to share my adsl connection to internet with all the clients. So i tried to
install ICS on the server, but my local IP changed on 192.168.0.1 /
255.255.255.0 and the clients must enabled DHCP, what i did. One client gets
192.84.64.1 / 255.255.0.0 !! as IP. How can the client now communicate with
the server?

Can anybody tell me what's wrong? I followed the instructions, that's all.
Thanks
ben

It's not recommended to use ICS on a server. Use a second nic to connect to
your adsl. Make sure the second nic is in a different IP-range and that only
TCP/IP is bound.
Make sure your server is running DNS and DHCP.

Ben,
I would encourage you to look at using a Linksys router
for your Internet Connection Sharing. They are cheap and
easy to setup. Their router can supply NAT, Firewall,
VPN, DHCP and ICS all in one little box. You connect it
to your current hub or switch. I have found them to be
highly reliable. Of course Dlink and Netgear make good
competing products.
