How to insert slide no. (but not on the cover page)

I ticked the box "do not show slide no. on the title page", then even if the
slide no. is also ticked, all the slide no.s will be gone. If I do not tick
"do not show slide no. on the title page", slide no. will appear on every
slide. How to remove the slide no. from the cover page, or the very first
page then? Thanks.

Hi Liking the "not on title slide" actually stops the number showing on all
slides with title only layout.
Maybe all slides have this layout?

If so and you don't want to alter this untick > select all, ctrl click on
slide one to remove from selection and then tick "slide number" and "Apply"
(not To all)
