How to Insert function right on text values e.g. 0180001640

The new field on the spreadsheet reflects the inserted formula and not the
resulting value. During the insert process however, the expected output
appears properly in the Function Arguments window.
 
Make sure the cell that holds the formula is not formatted as text, you can
try this, select the cell, format as general, press F2 and enter
