How to insert a attachment in a mailmerge message

I would like to distribute a mailing with attachment throug a mailmerge
message. My problem is as follow: I do not know how to insert a PDF document
in my mailmerge message. If I try to insert the PDF document as a insertlink,
it tries to convert the PDF document.

Could you please assist me with this.
