Tom
I need some help with installing XP Professional.
I formatted my harddrive (format c: /s) and am now at the C prompt.
To initiate the installation process of XP, here are the DOS commands that I
used in the past when reinstalling Win98.
- MD WINXP
- CD WINXP
- COPY *.* C:\WINXP
- CD WINXP
- SETUP
As of now, I cannot switch over to the cd rom drive (d or e -- not exactly
sure) for copying all files onto the c drive. When typing CD E:, I get
"Invalid Drive Specification". Any ideas how to get started with the setup
of XP? I appreciate if you could provide the proper DOS commands.
Also, after having formatting the C drive I still get the old Win98 screen
for a brief moment (1 second or so). I read somewhere that there is a
comand somewhere in the BIOS or system file. Will the "memory of 98"
conflict with XP once I installed XP? If yes, how can I make sure that
there won't be a problem?
