How to import Microsoft Mail folders back to Outlook 2003

Old PC died, now bought new laptop with Vista and started using Microsoft
Mail. Now I want to go back to my Outlook 2003 for better intertwined
interface with calendar etc.

Have everything converted except the Microsoft Mail e-mails and folders
themselves. When I try to export out of Windows Mail, my only options are
Microsoft Exchange (not familiar with this - gives no destination path), or
Microsoft Mail format (which is .eml).

I tried exporting folders in .eml format, but when trying to import into
Outlook 2003 using the Outlook Express 4x,5x... option, it just says "Folder
could not be opened. If another applications is using this file..."

So I know Outlook stores mail in .pst files, but is there no way to convert
the .eml files to .pst and keep the folder strucure?

Microsoft Exchange would be the correct format and you don't see a
destination path because the export will go to your default Personal Folders
file. If this isn't where you want them to go, you need to create a new
Personal Folders file (Control Panel|Mail|Data Files|Add), set this as the
default delivery location (Control Panel|Mail|E-mail Accounts|View or change
existing E-mail Accounts|Deliver new email to the following location:), and
do the export. When finished, reset the delivery location to your original
Personal Folders file; this will give you two Personal Folders and will
allow you to drag and drop the exported messages wherever you like.
