How to I change the new appointment defaults?

I use nearly all my appointments as reminders so I'd like to set a default
duration of 0 minutes, making the start and end times the same. I've tried
using the Tasks function for this, but it doesn't work as well for me.

Is there a way this can be done, or is there another function that will pop
up a message at a specific time?

No, outlook doesn’t support that. Why don’t tasks work for you?

if you are just using the calendar for reminders, a task utility for windows
might work better for you.

Sounds like an alarm clock application would suit you better. There rae tons
of them available free on the Internet, many with multiple alarms.
