I'm sharing internet with another department, they are workgroup B and
we are workgroup A
we are both using 192.186.0.xx IP's,
A uses 255.255.255.0 and B uses 255.255.0.0 subnet masks
but they still see each other. (GRR..)
how can I hide A from B but still share internet?
is there a way using the IP's config?
help please

Hi
Hmm... If sharing is allowed why would you like to Hide any thing?

I ONLY WANT TO SHARE THE INTERNET, NOT THE DATA.

As you've discovered, workgroups don't provide any type of security.
A network can have multiple workgroups, and a computer in any
workgroup can access a computer in any workgroup.

To isolate the two departments from each other while giving them both
Internet access, get two more broadband routers. Connect each
department to LAN ports on its own router. Connect the WAN (Internet)
port of each departmental router to a LAN port on the existing router.

Make sure that each departmental router uses a different subnet than
the existing router, such as 192.168.1.xx.
