how to have autoreply if you are not using exchange server?

how to have an autoreply without using this exchange server? because most of
our emails are just connected in a pop3 mail. now my boss want to have an
autoreply whenever we are not in the office..
Is this posible

Two options. You can either set up a Rule to emulate this, but be aware -
Outlook must be running 24/7 for this to work properly, and there is also
the danger of replying to Spam.
Secondly, (and preferable) see if your ISP has a webmail function, and if it
has, it may well have an "on vacation" function similar to the Out of
Office function on Exchange.

Yes, it's possible if your POP3 provider has an autoreply feature or if you leave Outlook running and have a reply rule configured. See http://www.slipstick.com/rules/autoreply.htm
