How to get rid of TaskBar Icon

A

Aneeliyo

Greetings!

I would appreciate if anybody can help me with getting rid of the Icon
which I have on my taskbar. Everytime I start my computer its there
always and when i try to close it, it does not go away. The icons reads
"Updates are ready for your computer. Click here to install these
updates". When I open Task Manager and try to end the program, its
comes up again. Any help?

Thanks to all of you taking time to read this.

Hi Aneeliyo,

Right-click on My Computer, select Properties then Automatic Updates tab.
You probably have either of these selections chosen:
"Download updates for me, but let me choose when to install them"
or
"Notify me but don't automatically download or install them"

Click in the radio button beside "Turn off Automatic Updates", then click on
Apply then OK.

Restart your computer.

Since you will need to check for Windows Updates, in order to keep your
computer patched with the latest security patches, you will have to remind
yourself to manually visit the Windows Update site in order to check for
current updates that you may need.

Why don't you just install the updates? ^_~ That might be the best
solution. I mean....updates are good.
