How to get rid of program message from Outlook/E-mail

J

Joe Snook

For two days I have been receiving a message everytime I
try to type in an e-mail. the message is:

"A Program is trying to access e-mail addresses you have
stored in outlook. Do you want to allow this?"
"If this is unexpected, it may be a virus and you should
choose 'No'"

After many clicks on the 'No" button the window goes away
until I type one keystroke.
Can someone HELP ME with a soultion? I have Windows XP/
Outlook XP. I have run virus scans from
McAfee/Trendmicro /Spybot; I ran all fixes/updates and the
window will not go away.

I am so frustrated after two evenings trying to resolve
the problem.

Thank you.

Sounds like you may have recently installed Office XP SP3. The problems
you're having are a known issue with SP3; security has been updated to more
closely match the security in Outlook 2003. You may be able to get around
the problem by either disabling Word as your e-mail editor or updating some
of your add-ins, especially virus scanners and spam filters (many major
manufacturers have already released compatible updates). See the following
articles for more information:
