First try would be under Help>About in the actual program. Second would be to right click on the program file
and select properties and then look at the info under the Version tab.

Help-About is the usual method.....

I don't know this particular method, but in general, you can get this
information from Help | About.

I don't know this particular method,

Sometimes I make the strangest typos, that baffle even me. I have no idea
why I write "method," when I meant "program." ;-)

Open the program and rt. click anywhere on it you will see several options
come up, one of these options is "about".

Umm no it doesn't - at least not in the vast majority of cases.....

That's funny I tried it before I posted my responce......it worked for me.
Maybe I'm the only one on the planet that this works for.

Well I've just this second right-clicked in the middle of OE which I am
using to write this response - there is NO context menu that says
"about"....in fact there is NO context menu AT ALL....

LOL Thats funny LOL the poster was talking about "Cyberlink Power
Cinema" not OE.
Why would you try it with an unrelated program?.

That may be true of Cyberlink Power Cinema, and it may even be true of some
other programs, but it certainly isn't true of programs in general.

Open Help, and you'll see About. Gives the v number.
Not very hard to figure out.

/I/ knew that - I told the OP that in my first post. Why are you telling me
this and not the OP?

One more tip is to use Belarc.com's free Advisor which will scan your
entire computer and list all software and versions in a nice tidy html
format for saving or printing. It also lists all the OS
information..ie. version, service packs etc etc

Good Luck,

Hi Ken,
But this is a moot point since the poster was asking about Cyberlink
Power Cinema.

Well, maybe. Yes, he mentions that program in the body of his message, but
he also puts "How to find version number of *any* [emphasis added] program"
in his subject line. For that reason, I wanted him to understand that this
method doesn't work in all (or even most) programs.
