How to Fill Empty Cells with Data from Previous Records

I have a query in Access 2003 which gives me the following results.

AAA BBB CCC
DDD EEE
FFF GGG HHH
III JJJ
KKK LLL

I would like to populate an empty cell within a field with the data from a
previous record. For instance, I would like AAA in the first cell of record
two, FFF in the first cell of records four and five. Any ideas on how to do
this? Thanks in advance!

How is the original table set up? Sounds like you're trying to get
Excel functionality in Access... If you have the parent table
(represented in column 1) and a join to the child table (containing
columns 2 and 3), you'd be good to go.
