How to export the contact pictures together with the contact info

We would like to use Outlook 2003 as a central storage for contacts, calendar
items and pictures.
While it is possible to export all items for reporting it is not possible to
do this for Contact Pictures (apparently).
Has anyone tried to get the pictures back as a batch? Or does this need to
be done for each individual contact?
 
Outlook doesn't provide a built-in way to export the pictures, which are stored as attachments. You'd probably have to write your own code to do that. These samples show various ways to save attachments:
