I didn't see anything that shows how the tables are linked. I want to import
the Outlook data into a contact manager and have exported contacts, calendar
and tasks folders but don't see any field that relates the tables for
matching up in the other program. How does Outlook link the related data
tables?

If you saved your contacts to a PST then this is not an issue.
All you need to do is open the PST into your new profile
and copy them into your system Contacts folder.

How did you do the Export?

Hi,

I need to move the pst file from a Windows 2000 machine to a new XP machine not yet networked. The 2000 does not have a CD burner so I am trying to email it. I export the pst to the desktop and then try to attach it to an email, but I get an "Operation Failed" notice when trying to attach. I have tried it with just a sub folder to reduce the size to something reasonable and get the same message.

Any ideas are welcome.

Thank you.

After you export the .pst file - you need to shut down Outlook and then
reopen it. It may also help to shut down Windows and then reopen it.

First, DON'T use export. Just shut down outlook and make a copy of your
PST. Then, zip it to make it smaller. Don't have a Zipper? There are many
freeware ones. http://www.ultimatezip.com/ is one. Then, restart Outlook
and mail the zipped file.

On the receiving machine, save the zip attachment somewhere. You won't need
an unzipper on XP, since it natively supports zipped files as though they're
folders. Extract (i.e., copy) the PST from the zipped archive and place it
somewhere. If you want it private, put it in your Windows profile folder
tree (i.e., %UserProfile%\somefolder). Otherwise, it doesn't matter. Add
the PST to Outlook with File>Open.

Always avoid export/import whenever possible.
