When entering time in Excell, I can not get it to format the cell so that I don't have to key the colon each time. I have tried formatting it to custom hh:mm, I have tried formatting it to time with hh:mm. Nothing seems to work. When I key in the number like 1:45 it gives me something like 10:48. I just want to key 145 and it put the colon in for me. If Excel can't do that then do you know a program that will?

You could apply a formula to cells that divides by 100, for example:

In A2... =A1/100

Then if you enter 145 in A1, it will look like 1.45 in A2. That's the closest thing I can think of without creating a vbscript.

I also figured out a way (you would think Excel would make it easier than this)
you go to the cell you want and type in the formula....example =A2+TIME(C1,D1,E1)
then go to column-cell C1 and type in the number 1 then go to cell D1 and type in 15.....you can leave E1 blank(its for seconds) you will then get 1:15 displayed in cell A1.
