how to ensure email comes into inbox instead of deleted items?

my mother (74) learning how to use laptop and keeps receiving her email in
the deleted items folder instead of the inbox. What do I tell her to do to
sort this out as its driving her crazy? Thank you
 
And her version of Outlook would be...?
