How to enable autoplay on hdd windows xp

i want to enable autoplay on hard drives as it can be done on a WIN9x
machine. Just want to hid the contents of the drives other than the system
drive. Can I display "These files are Hidden" on any drive or folder other
than the predefiened ones ?>?
