how to enable autoplay on CD/DVD drives???

For the life of me I can't find anywhere to enable the autoplay feature for my CD/RW DVD/RW devices... I've gone through the properties/autorun tabs, enabling the 'prompt for action': system-devices show no autoplay enabling feature, and the help system don't even have autoplay in its base...
and auutoplay enabled media won't autoplay!!
Nero shows both devices as being autoplay disabled
so, how do I enable autoplay????

There is no option to enable or disable automatically
running CD-ROMs in the user interface. To enable or
disable automatically running CD-ROMs, you must edit the
registry:
1 Click Start, click Run, type regedit in the Open box,
and then press ENTER.
2 Locate and click the following registry key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\CDRom

To disable automatically running CD-ROMs, change the
Autorun value to 0 (zero). To enable automatically running
CD-ROMs, change the Autorun value to 1.
Restart your computer.

.
Start--my computer--right click the drive you want
autoplay on--then properties--autoplay tab--select prompt
me each time--then ok---

If this don't work go to
http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_tweaks.htm
and look up the fix for restoring autoplay, load it,open
it,may want to save it for next time, then open it up and
run it,Walla it's working again!
