I am trying to insert text into a blank form that was dowloaded from a web
site.
It will allow you to select pre-defined yes/no boxes but it will not allow
you to add any text in the blank form areas, which means that it has to be
handwritten.
The file properties show the attributes to be greyed out and the only box
that is ticked is the archive box. Is there anyway to edit this form?
The form is available at

Sorry, JPS. That's not a real "fill-in" Word form. They just used checkboxes
so you can check them, but they didn't properly create the rest of the form,
so it's only good for filling out by hand or typewriter.

They didn't provide any text form fields in the document. If you want
to try typing filling the form out in Word then here's what you can
do:

- Create a new document
- Go to Insert/File and insert the contents of the document you
downloaded to strip the document protection

This will unprotect the document so you can type in it but just so you
know, it's not in the best format so you may struggle a little with
it. Once you have the text areas filled in then you can protect the
document in order to enable the check boxes by turning on the Forms
toolbar and clicking the "Protect Form" command.

To turn on the toolbar go to View/Toolbars/Forms.

Why not try the HTML Ver?
