How to display Mobile device drive in desktop appli. using file di

hi,
in my windows explorer (desktop), the mobile device drive is displayed. but
when i open any other program , say ms word, in the open file dialog box, the
mobile device drive is not displayed. can you tell me the reason?

otherwise how to display my mobile device drive in my vb.net desktop
application using file dialog box? because i wish to get the absolute path
of my files in my pocket pc device.

The "Mobile Device" folder is a pseudo-folder and is not part of the regular
filesystem on your PC so other apps cannot access it. You can enumerate the
filesystem on your device using the RAPI functions. You'll find a .NET
wrapper for these APIs here:-

Dear Pete,
My question is, is it possible to access the files in pocket pc using a
desktop application file dialog (provided Activesync connection is there)?
Because our desktop application wants to copy and paste some files in some
particular folders in the pocket pc.
If it is not possible, how the desktop applications handles the same scenario?

you may use to copy files from Desktop to Remote Device.
