How to disable Web Archive feature for txt file

Hi:

I try to open a .txt file by using Word 2002. A
message 'File.txt is not a valid Web Archive.'. This text
file contain some encoded format but we just want to view
the file content like notepad.

That is, MS Word try to open the txt file as Web
Archive. But we would like to view all text in file only.

Therefore, what can we do. Can we disable Web Archive
feature during opening the txt file.

Thanks

John

What do you mean by the statement "This text file contains some encoded
format"?
If there is anything other than text in a text file, then Word may not be
able to identify the format and that is the reason for the warning. Just
appending a TXT suffix to a file, does not make it a translatable text file.
If you open the file in Notepad, remove the junk and save it from there as a
text file, can Word open the resulting file without problem?

Hi:

I have checked the text file and I find that MS word
will display 'Invalid Web Archive' if the text file
contains the following line.

MIME-Version: 1.0

MS Word can open the text file once I remoce this line.

Is there any configuration in MS Word on handling
this???

Thanks
