How to disable virus scan at start of powerpoint

when i open powerpoint in the bottom left corner it says "Running Virus
Scan..." and every time i open a new presentation it does the same thing. I
want to remove is feature. It makes the progam lag. I tried putting security
macros under tools options to low but this isn't it. what do i do?

Microsoft Powerpoint does not come with a virus scanning function
built in, so you should direct your question to the unnamed maker
of your antivirus software. If you're using Symantec/Norton
AntiVirus, try disabling the Office Plugin that comes with it as
