I wanted to make a CD of system32 files to repair another
machine. After copying the system32 folder to the \CD
Burner\ folder it would not go away or allow me to remove
it.

Now I can't delete some the system32 files from
the ...\Application Data\Microsoft\CD Burner\system32\
(which shouldn't be there) folder. I tried to move the
copy of the system32 folder to the root of C: but it did
the same thing; copied some files and can't be removed!
I tried to get to a Command Prompt booting from the XP CD
ROM and going to the recovery console... no joy. I can't
RD or even CD to the c:\system32 folder! Using the DIR
commmand I can see the files and their attributes but
can't change anything, access denied. Any ideas?
Thanks, Bob

I'm not sure what you were trying to do, but you should not delete the
system32 folder. It should be located in c:\windows\system32
You also cannot, should not, copy the system 32 folder to a cd and try to
copy it to another computer. That just won't work and will cause a big mess.
To repair the other machine, do a repair install using the xp cd or post
your exact prob and someone should be able to help you. Unfortunatly from
what you said you tried, I think you may have two messed up systems now.
Repair installs on both may be in order.
