Hi,
How do I delete some of my desktop backgrounds that I no
longer want?
I'm using XP Home.
Thanks.

For starters, open Add/Remove Programs in the control panel, click on
"add/remove windows components" then navigate the following:
accessories and utilities>accessories> and uncheck "desktop wallpaper"

That should remove some of the wallpapers, but if you manually want to
remove the wallpapers search in the c:\windows folder for any bitmaps
and the c:\windows\web\wallpaper for any image files

thanks, I went to C:\windows\web\wallpapers but the
images there are only those that came with windows. I
used a picture as a background and eventhough I deleted
the image in "my pictures" the name of the file is still
in the list of desktop backgrounds. I would have liked to
delete the name as still one of the background to choose
from.
