How to delete Archive. pst File????

Hi,
running outlook 2000 and xp pro. In my outlook folder in documents
and settings I have two files, Archive.pst file with 460 MB within,
and an Outlook.pst file with 170 MB within. How do I delete these and start
afresh, if I delete the files I can no longer archive to them as the file
path is not found.
If the e-mail archive is is in the archive.pst what's in the Outlook.pst
should they be empty when starting afresh????
Thanks for any help, need to free up some space.

Your archive.pst has messages that have been archive and
will be messages that are older than a certain amount of
days / months ( you can see this if you click tools option
and others then click auto archive.

The outlook.pst is your personal folder and holds all the
mail that is in your mail profile.

If you delete these files you will loose all your data

I would add the archive.pst (click tools service and add
then select personal folders and then browse to the file)
delete any contents that are within the folder but if you
happy you dont want to keep anything you can get rid of
the .pst file.

Also when you click tools service check if you have a
personal folder set up and see if this is the path the
personal folder.
