How To Delay Authentication Attemps

Greetings,

My security event log is overflowing with failed SMB attempts from hackers.
The best solution I can come up with is to some configure a delay whenever
an SMB or logon authentication attempt is made.

Does anyone know how I can delay authentication attempts so that it slows
down these password guessing attempts and reduces the size of my
event log?

Any reason why you have your NetBIOS ports open for world access?

You need a firewall now! Go to http://scan.sygatetech.com/ to see for yourself. If
you are not sharing files or printers with anyone then uninstall file and print
sharing. There are may great personal firewalls for FREE. Even Zone Alarm wiil
protect you and is geared to novice users. After you secure your computer, you should
run virus scan on it also. --- Steve
