The speed of decrypting a file depends on just how it was encrypted.
If it was done in a very complex way, it is virtually impossible to
do on a desktop computer. The first thing to do is to determine how
the encryption was done. IOW, find the culprit and beat it out of the
person. The other alternatives would be to take it to a professional
shop (depending on how much one wants to pay and importance of the
file) since nothing short of a Cray (or equivalent) might be able to
decrypt an ad hoc encryption although a very experienced cracker (i.e.,
a professonal "hacker") might also suffice.

Dont listen to that idiot. I'm assuming your an administrator and that your
running WinXP Pro. Start the comp in safe mode (F8) find the file, right
click properties. Go to security, add yourself to the list of ppl (see if
your listed first) who have full control. Change the attributes. Uncheck the
box saying encrypt contents , apply, should work if its on the same comp, the
key is stored there.
