how to cut a link between DC's

Hello,

My boss asked me to come up with a plan to cut a link
between 2 DC's in the same domain. We currently have 2
DC's, 1 in Montreal and the other in LA. The DC with the 5
roles is in Montreal. The LA DC is the one that is no
longer needed.
My goal is to have 2 DC's in Montreal and we should not
see the LA DC in Active Directory once we take it offline.
How would I go about doing this gracefully?
