How to create user policies?

The answer is probably so simple that I am overlooking it,
but I cannot figure out how to create a policy and assign
it to a specific user. It was a relatively simple process
with 4.0, but I cannot figure out the process for 2000.

Here's the scenario. I use a Group Policy for all of our
users. However, one of our computers is in a library with
public access, and we log it on with a unique username.
For this user, I want to lock it down tight. Obviously, I
don't want the policy enforced on other users. Can someone
guide me regarding this matter?

Thank you for answering my post.

AD. Here is some additional info that might help. Our
setup is very simple: one server, one domain, and about 50
users. To get to the group policy, I open AD, go to the
properties of the domain and click Group Policies. Our
users use the default policy listed. I see that I can add
policies, but I cannot figure out how to apply the added
and very restrictive policy to just one user and not the
entire group.

You apply the policy to the site, domain or OU (normally OU) that the user
is in and then use the secrity tab to ensure that the policy is only applied
to the group or user in question.

Normally it's better to use a group rather than listing individual users in
the ACL, even if that group will contain only one user.

Create an OU and a new Group Policy for that OU. Configure the user
configuration for that OU to lock down the user as needed and move that user
account into that OU. --- Steve
