how to create references to new endnotes within exisitng list

I'm looking for a clear explanation as to how to insert a new reference to a
new endnote. For example, I have already references 1-100. I want to add a
new paragraph within the text and refer it to the new endnote #50.
Accordingly, the old # 50 becomes #51 and so on.

Have you tried using Insert | Reference | Footnote and choosing Endnote (or
using the built-in keyboard shortcut Alt+Ctrl+D)? If the existing endnotes
were created using this command, they will renumber automatically.
