How to create a simple home network with Windows 2000

I have three PCs, network cards and a router. I setup the
systems and ran network wizard from Windows 2000. Two
systems cannot see anything on the network and one of the
systems can see all three PCs. On that third system, I
get an error when trying to open one of the other two PCs
(all with sharing enabled). I also get a semaphore
timeout when trying to connect to the workgroup. What am
I doing wrong? How do I resolve this?
