1.. Right-click the desktop.
2.. Select New - Shortcut from the displayed context menu.
3.. For the item's location, type devmgmt.msc, and click Next.
4.. Name the shortcut Device Manager, then click Finish.

In the folder \Windows\System32 is the file: devmgmt.msc. Right click that
file, left click Send To/Desktop (create shortcut).

Hi,

1. Right-click anywhere in your desktop.

2. Point to New, and then click Shortcut.

3. In the Create Shortcut wizard, devmgmt.msc in the
location of the item box

4. Click Next.

5. Enter a name for the shortcut, and then click Finish.

Hope this help!

Hi, Doug.

ALMOST as good as a shortcut...and it's already built into WinXP:

Press Win+Break, then click Hardware | Device Manager.

Thanks to all for the assistance--and the Win/Break tip.

I now have the shortcut on my desktop.
