You ask a real tough question! No kidding.

My immediate response is: Start with beutiful pictures! I'm not being
glib or smart-mouthed. I'm being serious. Content is everything. The
rest is just window-dressing. Personally, I want people to be wow'ed
by my pictures, not distracted by the package I wrap them in.

As for a particular program, I don't lean toward Flash. It requires
too much overhead for my tastes.

I use MyAlbum. For those who like transitional effects, it has tons of
them. And it's capable of including sound in the background, either
music or your own voice.

I checked out the website of Photomeister, recommended in another
response by Larry. It looks good, too.

You mean Anvsoft Flash Slide Show Maker?I just tried days ago,a very
easy to use one.
You'd better go to their website to see some models,
maybe you will be inspired.

I'd prefer Wondershare Flash SlideShow Builder, which is worthy to have
a try!

But the only problem is that the above website isn't freeware, it is
shareware. And no, I've nothing against shareware, I've registered some
shareware software which I like but we (the people on this newsgroup)
rather use freeware software.
