How to create a batch file for backup?

Does anyone have any suggestions on how to create a batch file for backup?
I would like xcopy everything from D drive into G drive without requesting
any confirmation for overwrite any files. After that, shut down window XP.
Does anyone have any suggestions?
Thanks in advance for any suggestions
