How to copy profile after joining domain

A

alex.zapata

I have to join a lot of computers with existing users into a domain.
After that the users will be login in with an account on the domain,
which means a new 'clean' profile.

Is there a way to copy all the contents of their old local login
profile without having to copy items one by one, such as contents of
the desktop, e-mail identities, PST files from Outlook, etc. Or at
least keep that to a minimum.

This would make the migration much less time consuming and painful.
Does copying the whole profile folder under 'documents and settings'
work?

Are user rights an issue? (The current account they are using has
admin privileges, and the new ones will not)

Thanks in anticipation for your help.

Alex.
