I'm having a problem I'm trying to transfer some files from my old computer
to my new xp computer. The 98 only has a floopy and some of the files are two
large to fit on a floopy. I had thought if I could connect the two computers
then I could just transfer the files from one computer to the next through a
crossover cable, but I'm not shore how to set this up? Will I be able to
tranfer programs from 98 to xp through a crossover cable? Thank you in
advance for your help.

if your just using Windows 98, then you can not do file sharing. You need
Windows 98 Second edition (SE) to have file sharing.

and you can have file sharing between a direct link from
computer-to-computer on Second Edition.

That's not right.

You can share files on Windows98 first edition.
For that matter, you can share files on Win95, and Windows 3.11, and DOS if
you want.
