How to configure Firewall for win2000 domain?

Hi,
I wonder how to configure the firewall for a win2000 domain. According
to
article 179442 (http://support.microsoft.com/search/preview.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;Q179442),
a number of ports should be opened on the firewall. What we are trying
to do, is to reach a DC behind the firewall (Netgear Prosafe Firewall)
, but just opening the ports doesn't seem to be very helpful. The
domain can not
be found. Any other aspects to be considered???

Thanks in advance

You should not make your DCs widely available on the internet! You are
running quite close to disaster...

Try doing this with VPNs or something along those lines...

Thank you for the reply,
Actually the DC is not that widely available. I have restricted the access
to only a specific range of IP-addresses in our LAN. Can you set up a VPN in
combination with a hardware Firewall? In that case, how would you do that?
