How to configure file search not to monitor result ?

When doing a file search in Windows 2000 has finished searching, then
it continues to monitor the result incase any changes are made to the
files it has found (Or if new files has arrived and matches the search
criteria).

I would like to turn this behavior off because:
1. I make some of my file searches on a mapped network drive and when
there is a lot of file activity on the network drive, then the overall
performance drops for my other applications accessing the network
drive.
2. I would prefere that the result in my search window, stayed the
same after the search had finished, even if the found files suddenly
didn't match the search criteria, or if new files had arrived which
matched the search criteria.

Does anyone have a nifty registry entry to add, to make the file
search act more like in WinNT4 ?

P.S. Not that keen on using 3rd party file search utilities.

Have your site monitored by ChangeDetection.com, so have already read
your tip :o). Since I make up to 20-30 searches a day, and many times
I have several FileSearch Windows going at once, then I would prefer
not needing to maintain those temporary files (Could probably place
them in a directory which is emptied every time I boot).

But I still have hope that one can turn off the listening for file
change notifications.
