How to completely eliminate entries in the address bar?

I routinely go through this procedure, approximately once a week: (1) Go to
Tools>Internet Options>General tab, click on "Delete Cookies," "Delete
files," and "Clear history," then click "OK"; (2) run Ad-Aware; (3) on a
less frequent basis, run Spybot S&D. Despite this, I still have addresses
that pop up as soon as I start to type something in the address (locator)
bar, which means that others who use the computer could also learn where I
have browsed -- such as to my bank account. What can I do to *completely*
clean the address bar?

Thanks,

Auto complete (everything on that page) is already checked, and I never
browse offline -- yet information still remains in the address bar. I do
suspect that some cookies may remain (as the previous response implied).

Any other ideas?

Thanks,
MaryL
