How to close internet ports to stop popups and spyware

I've run into several problems I not only have spyware to
deal with but I have popups everytime I open IE I've used
Spybot S&D as a stopgap measure but that only helps so
much please help

You may wish to download AdAware, along with its latest reference file,
from:

http://www.lavasoftusa.com/support/download

Once downloaded, and updated, terminate your internet connection (physically
if necessary), and run the program. Once complete, reboot, and run it again.

You may also consider a free firewall, such as ZoneAlarm, to better secure
your computer.
