I have read much info about cloning a laptop hard drive. Is there a
method that I can use to clone my laptop hard drive to my desktop pc
over a home network and then re-clone a new hard drive in my laptop
over the network? Over the network is key here. I am upgrading the
laptop hd. Running winXP SP2 on both machines.
I am aware of other methods to accomplish what I want. I just need to
satisfy my curiousity with doing it over the network.
Thank you.

Using Acronis True Image I image partitions on one computer to a HD on
another computer over a network...I also have restored the image over a
network.
If imaging works I see no reason why cloning would not work............
you would need the same cloning/imaging software on both computers
especially if you are working from a blank HD on the laptop.
