How to clean up the registry key of the COM/ActiveX object that were uninstalled?

I tried to use some of the registry cleaner tool...
they can't locate the key that are pointing to dll that were removed during
uninstallation......

I use System Mechanic from www.iolo.com. It cleans the orphaned entries in
registry quite well.
