Please, help me.
Could you please teach me how to clean up the Processes
List from Task Manager, since the Verizon DSL service
told me that (41 processes) is too much and is slowing
the system.

Thank you very much for your help

That's clueless. Verizon has been pretty good lately.

41 processes isn't bad, or good, by itself. Describe
the problem you're having.

XP home or pro ?

What applications do you use ?

I agree with Al Dykes. 41 processes is by no means an excessive
amount. I have 47 at the moment and my system is pretty "lean and
mean".

You might be able to trim back some startup items. Use Start - Run -
MSCONFIG and go to the Startup tab. Compare the list of items that
are loading at startup with the following checklist web sites to see
what can be safely dispensed with:

http://www2.whidbey.com/djdenham/Uncheck.htm
http://www.pacs-portal.co.uk/startup_content.htm
http://www.3feetunder.com/krick/startup/list.html - has trojan related
items listed

If you want to tinker with the startup services then go to
http://www.blackviper.com/WinXP/servicecfg.htm and check to see what
services can be safely removed or reconfigured on your system.

Good luck
