how to check Front Page Server extentions are OK?

I have an on-going problem with not being able to open a website with FrontPage. The site is working fine for browsing, it just wont let my open it any more, claiming that I do not have author permission. I've reset pass words and this didn't work. Also, tried to delete the "service.lck" file in the _vti_private directory but it isn't there

I suspect there is a problem with the Server Extentions. How do you check the Server Extention health? How to remove the Server Extentions and reinstall

I am running Windows 2000 Server with IIS 5.0. These appear to be working fine. There are 5 virtual webs on this machine. All 5 subwebs started having the same lock-out problem at the same time.

Any suggestions much appreciated.

HI! did you recently install a new version of FrontPage?
did you install any other script program for usernames and password like (
athententix or webquota?)

if not use your internet service manager and location it and check it out
with that. it will tell you if there is any other problems.

If you installed a new version or upgraded to office 2003 then I have a
similar problem as it is asking me for something that my Internet service
manager is no longer compatible with.

NOTE: always try to back track what you installed or upgraded ( hardware or
software) this is usually the case. and note it if you can in your inquiry.

Hope this helps a bit :)
